| yay. i'm back in america. i am so tired, but i can't seem to fall asleep.
i just talked to kevin for like 3 hours. haha. he yelled at me for sucking at math and i yelled at him for not knowing words and sucking at writing. i think i might suck at math a lot more than he sucks at writing...
anyways. i can't wait to see everybody when i get back!!! o. and i am super duper ultra excited about Grey's Anatomy. the show has absolutely no point and is completely repetitive in its don't-you-feel-sorry- for-me love story plots. but!! i am hooked. i get to watch it this fall on tom's huuuuge tv. puhahaha!!
ok. i'm going to try to get some sleep now. goodnight!

| whoa! i'm going back to america in two days. it doesn't seem like it's been that long...
i talked to kevin for like 2 and a half hours and joe for like 30 minutes on this Skype thing. it's this computer phone thing that lets you connect and talk to anyone on a computer for free! all you need is a headset with a microphone and you're set! it would have been nice to have known about this earlier...
so.....! tomorrow is my last day at work and then i'm off to america the next day. i'll be back in ithaca probably on the 18th. can't wait to see everybody and move into the new apartment!!
sssssennggg~~~~!

| back from our vacation!!! we went to an-dong and it ended up being a crazy trip!
my family and i are of the eui-sung (the name the place where the original kim was born) kims. i know where my grandfather, my great grandfather, and my great great grandfather were born and buried. my dad's from a big family so i also know where most of my family members live (all the way to my third cousin). but... i have no idea who or where my other ancestors are.
during our vacation we went to a 400 year old house built in the mountains. while we were taking a walk by the stream, we found a large gravestone in the middle of two large tombs. it was written in traditional calligraphy, so my dad read it out loud to us. it read, "Here lies Kim Sung Ju near his birthplace, the house of the Eui-Sung Kims." ok. my dad freaked. we ran up to the house and asked the owner what kim "line" he was. he told us he was of the eui-sung kim family and that he was the oldest living son of the eui-sung kim bloodline.
for those of you who don't know how big of a deal this is, let me explain. first of all, to find another eui-sung kim is hard enough (most are kim-hae kims, it's sort of like saying you are of the Boston Johnsons, or something). the owner of the house, we found, was my second cousin three times removed. also, to find one of the houses of your ancestors from 500 years back never ever ever happens. a lot of the houses from way back were either burned by accident or intentionally during the Korean-Japanese war.
we had planned to just spend a relaxing weekend in an old country home, but we ended up finding (and spending the night in!!) the birth and death place of my great-great-great-great-great grandfather!!
wow-weee~~!! o. and i also ate so many peaches, i look like a peach now.
